OSHA Devlog 2: Improving conveyor building with an "anchor system"

Taking some inspiration from shapez 2

Improving the conveyor building system

I’ve been playing some other factory simulation games like Factorio and Shapez 2 recently for inspiration. Something I found super intuitive about Shapez 2 is its conveyor building system. You can place anchor points while building conveyors, which let you easily change direction without having to build separate strips and connecting them together. It felt way nice this way, so I decided to try to replicate it in OSHA.

Not showing any vertical conveyor placements because I’m going to be revamping that soon. I think ramps are going away in favor of some kind of system that transports straight up rather than at an incline.

But it works pretty well, and features

  • Set anchor points with left click
  • Change path once without having to anchor
  • No building backwards from last anchor point

I also added some more placement-related sounds that will probably be replaced in the future.
